Concept of Yin and Yang
I mentioned in my last post that "The energy of the moon is yin instead of yang, naturally it is very pure and intense". I'd like to be a bit more precise in what I wrote to avoid confusion.
The concept of yin and yang is quite complex and profound, to put it simply, it is relative and we can't really affirm their attributes unless we identify the two comparative matters, like hot is yang and cold is yin; male is yang and female is yin; and so on and so forth.
So to clarify my statement, I'd like to add that when we compare the sun and the moon; the sun is Yang and the moon is Yin. On the other hand, when we reference the moon shining in the night, the night becomes Yin while the moon rays becomes Yang.
I hope this little confusion will still encourage you to sit under the bright moon light to purify your mind and spirit 
Moon Cake Festival
The Moon Cake Festival is commonly known as Mid-autumn Festival (中秋節 zhong qiu jie) amongst the Chinese communities. It is celebrated every year on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month. It is said that the moon is at its brightest on this particular night.
There are many legendary stories behind this festival; the one I like best is the story of a beautiful lady dancing on the moon. When I was young, I remember we (a group of children), led by our elders, used to carry lanterns and walk around the city in the early hours of the night, after that we would all sit down and stare at the moon besides eating the delicious moon cake… the competition was: who is the first to spot this beautiful lady.
Feng Shui-wise, the moon is represented by the trigram Kun, corresponds to the mother, and to our Mother Earth as well. The energy is yin instead of yang, naturally it is very pure and intense.
