I have written in my other blog about a burglary experienced by one of my neighbors and how one can use the Taoist ritual to help erase the negative energy after the incident. 

From a Feng Shui stand point, we always emphasize on the importance of external landforms surrounding our home.    This is an image of the backyard as this is our reference point.   Notice that the backyard slopes down and is covered with overgrown trees and shrubs.   As a matter of fact, we continuously stress that it is good to have a strong and solid support (mountain or wall) at the back of our house.

Like inside our house, the external landforms should also, at all time, portray beauty, cleanliness, neat and harness good energy; this is because we want the energy in our backyard to circulate well too.    We may see a clearer picture of the break-in if we were to observe the locations of the natal flying stars of the house as well as the flying star of the day; but this is far too complex to be decoded here.    

Remember, each of the 9 flying stars carries both good and bad attributes.   When the stars are not supported, the negative aspects of the stars will manifest and the yearly, monthly, or daily flying stars are the primary triggers of all the happenings.

By the way, in addition to the Taoist ritual, you can also use the singing bowl to purify the space.  

As previously accounted, the 7th Lunar month is also known as Hungry Ghost Festival.  In addition, besides the fact that the monthly flying star 5 occupying its original position in the center of the grid, this month can be particularly challenging as there is a total clash between the year and the month stem and branches as illustrated in the table.

The month stem 甲 (Jia – Wood) is clashing the year stem 庚 (Geng – Metal); the month branch 申 Monkey is clashing the year branch 寅 Tiger; not forgetting the double elemental clashes between Wood and Metal. 

Please be particularly cautious if the elements in your Bazi natal chart are unfavorable, health problems and accidents would most probably accentuate and relative to these two elements.   For info: Metal relates to lungs, large intestines, skin, cars etc. and Wood being liver, gall bladder, eyes, trees, etc.

This Double Happiness image is an extremely beautiful paper-cutting I found many years back when I visited China.   I had it framed with a golden background to heighten its auspiciousness and it is now hanging above our headboard in our bedroom. 

It portrays a dragon on the right and the phoenix on the left, which summarizes a Chinese idiom 龙凤呈祥  Long feng cheng xiang (meaning auspicious Dragon and Phoenix).  This idiom is used to express good wishes for the newlyweds on their wedding day.  Its primary intention is to congratulate the couple and to wish them a great future in addition to a happy marriage and the birth of a son soon.

You can use a similar painting such as this to intensify your love relationship in your bedroom.  Sleeping with your head pointing to your Yan Nian (longevity/romance) direction is believed to strengthen your love life as well.  Some couples would choose to place a pair of Mandarin ducks instead. 

These are simple, easy, and affordable Chinese practices to activate or preserve a blissful marriage.   Here's to your affectionate and satisfying love life!

  Like All Souls’ Day in the Roman Catholic Church when people gather together and pay respect to their deceased at and around the cemetery, Chinese 7^th Lunar Month (August 10th to September 8th) known as Ghost Festival or Hungry Ghost Festival is a tradition amongst the filial Chinese communities to offer prayers and food, burn joss paper in memory of their ancestors, deceased relatives and friends.   It is of Taoist origins and is believed that it would help our deceased from wandering and appease their spirits.    By practicing this ritual, it is also said that blessings will be bestowed on us.

It is a festival of re-union and sharing.  In Asian countries, you can still see stage singing, Chinese street operas, and puppet shows performed during this lunar month.  These artistic performances were dedicated to entertain the spirits of the deceased, at the same time, keep them out of mischief during this period of time.

     I have been strolling down this famous Chinese quarter in Paris many times, specifically the other day with a friend who is interested in Feng Shui; and in our conversation related to Feng Shui; I realized that this is a good way of portraying Feng Shui, so I took a picture instantly as a picture is worth a thousand words.   

It is true that when I am immersed in Feng Shui talks and consultations, I will then dig into basic things.  It is when I go back to basics, like here with my friend that I realized there is so much information in Feng Shui to diffuse to the world.

As you can see from the picture, there is a wide open space in front of the store where people walk or drive in (driveway was not taken in picture but it is to the right of the lady).  This space is what we call the Ming Tang in Feng Shui.  It is the place where energy accumulates prior to it being carrying in by the customers into the  store.

This Chinese store has in fact been here for almost half a decade.  It is owned by two brothers who were from Thailand with Chinese origins.  I believe they must be conscious of the Feng Shui instinctively when they first acquired this property.  They have no intention to move away from this auspicious site in spite of the fact that they are cashing in multi-million of Euros weekly, in fact, they develop their prosperity by multiplying subsidiaries in different districts of Paris, including in the outskirts.  Is this not a proof of good Feng Shui? 

So make sure that you have a Bright Hall as well either for your business or at home.

    I was passing by Eiffel Tower the other day; a little angel said to me: why don’t you share the Feng Shui perspective of this world famous monument? 

   So here we go… The shape and form of Eiffel Tower is triangular, even though it was built with steel, in Feng Shui, the shape and form prioritize the building material; therefore Eiffel Tower is related to Fire element.  As it was built on a solid vast piece of land; it is related to Earth element.  The flow of qi (energy) from fire to earth is in harmony, and a Bright Hall for qi to accumulate; no wonder it attracts millions of visitors each year. 

Now we shall sidestep a bit to the hexagram of Yijing; with fire on earth which represents progress, and signifies the sun rising above the ground, thus brightening the horizon.    Even in Yijing, it is auspicious.   This perhaps adds to the popularity of this monument, as a matter of fact, lots of fun too climbing those stairs!

 Chrysanthemum represents the season of autumn, the harvest and the realization of dreams.  Therefore where chrysanthemum blooms, it promises good news.   Additionally, chrysanthemum symbolizes nobleness and the treasured thoughts of our ancestors.   It is also a blessing for longevity.    In funerals, it is believed that the chrysanthemum can help the soul to transmigrate to the Pure Land.

The chrysanthemum is an excellent model of tranquility and an alleviation of grief or anxiety.   If one is addicted to gambling and speculation; and is unable to kick off the bad habits, one can consider placing a painting of chrysanthemum in the bedroom.  A word of advice, it should on no account be placed at the wealth position.  Since the life span of chrysanthemum is rather brief, it is  inauspicious in terms of attracting wealth.  

I have a lotus pond in my backyard, right now the buds are forming and soon they will start to bloom.  I shall post a picture here when they are in full bloom.   

Lotus represents summer and symbolizes attainment, nature and purity.  Lotus grows in mud and rises untainted several centimeters to flower.   Hence a famous statement in the Chinese culture: Lotus, while growing from mud, is unstained.    It serves as praise for a dignified woman who is high in her morals.   In many Asian cultures, lotus represents elegance, beauty, perfection and grace.  It is also a divine symbol and spiritual pursuit of purity of body, speech, and mind.   

One can hang a painting of lotus in one’s bedroom if a wife or husband is involved in an undesired affair of the heart.  It is also known that people who are engaged in unpleasant livelihood can bathe and purify themselves with lotus flowers.
